Ďurkovský asks for immediate stoppage of PKO demolishing

The Bratislava major, Andrej Ďurkovský, asks for immediate stoppage of any demolishing works on the building of the Bratislava Park of Culture and Rest (PKO) from the investor company Henbury Development, to return the damaged part of the building to its original state and to remove the fence from lands around PKO. As he told at the yesterday briefing, in case of these conditions breach concerned consequences will be drawn against the investor. He indicated that eventual restriction measures would not have to touch just this investor. Ďurkovský pointed out that this is the statement of major, in case of need he will ask the city for help, too. He wants to proceed with representatives of Henbury Development and activists. Originally the major should have answered brief questions of journalists at the briefing, however, after he finished his declaration he told, he has nothing to tell to this topic now and left the place. In summer 2005 the municipal office sold the lands under PKO involving the area of 29 400 m2 to the investor, which plans to build-up the River Park II complex there at the price of about 9.33 mills Euro.
