Slovak construction market should come back to growth next year after this year´s stabilization. This is the result of CEEC Research conducted by KPMG Slovakia in co-operation with Ipsos Tambor among representatives of Slovak construction companies. Company representatives expect only a slight decrease in the size of the construction market by 1.4 % in 2011 and growth of the sector, which showed significant decline in 2009 and 2010 by 5.6 %, in 2012.

“Although the current capacity utilization is at the lowest in the last 5 years, it appears that construction industry has reached its bottom. In 2011 there should be no significant decrease and construction industry should return to growth from 2012,“ said Ľuboš Vančo, managing partner at KPMG Slovakia. Heads of construction firms have similar expectations regarding revenues. For this year, they still expect a slight decline of 0.9 % and a growth of 4.4 % next year.
