Slovak Agency for Development of Investments and Trade (SARIO) took part in successful realization of 34 foreign investment projects in Slovakia last year in the total planned amount of 538 mills €. The involved investments contributed creating 4 624 new job positions. Peter Ostrica, the director of the direct foreigner investments section, informed that together 171 investment projects were allocated. „It means that each fifth project, on which our section was working, was finalized successfully. In context of the crisis all over the world these results fully meet expectations of industry. Also activity of investors relaxed in year 2008 and it can be observed not only in the number of projects, but also in the number of newly opened job positions and in the aggregate capital, which was or should be invested in Slovakia in a short time,“ Ostrica told. From 34 investment projects realized last year 65 % hereof were finalized in the first half-year in his view, so before the economy crisis impact yet.
