The tunnel Bôrik together with the segment to Jánovce should be put into operation in November this year, what will substantially relieve the traffic on the current main road through the Svit town. It stated the Minister of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications Ľubomír Vážny within the control day on the construction of the motorway stage D1 Mengusovce – Jánovce. The construction with the total length of 25.85 km has been divided into three sections. Technologically the most complicated object, the Bôrik tunnel, is located on the 8-kilometer stage named as Mengusovce – Jánovce I. stage. The two-tube tunnel, 996 m long, passes the Kozie Chrbty Mountain. The part of the motorway stage is, beside the Bôrik tunnel, also 12 bridge objects and two landings Batizovce.
