Prešov: Thanks to the UrbSpace project, the old housing estate will get a modern look

Prešov will be one of 5 Central European cities where the international project UrbSpace will be carried out. This project will increase the attractiveness and quality of the urban environment by improving the quality of public spaces. There will be 15 proposals for the revitalization, only 1/3 will implemented. The project, where students from the Vienna University of Technology and the municipality‘s main architect co-operate, obtained financial support from the Operational Programme Central Europe 2. 13 partners from 8 European countries (Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic) are participating in the project. The leading partner is the organization Regionálne environmentálne centrum Slovensko (Regional Environmental Centre Slovakia). Space within an inner courtyard in the vicinity of shopping centre Centrál at Sídlisko II (Housing Estate), a typical socialist prefabricated building from the 1960´s, will be addressed.
