Skanska: more green offices

Skanska is currently building an office building with a great emphasis on eco-friendly design – City Green Court in Prague 4 – Pankrác. The total value of Skanska´s investment is EUR 38 mill. The building will offer a total of 16 000 sqm for lease and it should be ready in the first quarter of 2012. Similar to other office projects by Skanska, the City Green Court project is also designed to meet the requirements for certification under the international LEED system. The City Green Court building has been designed by the architectural studio Richard Meier & Partners with the help of the local architectural studio Cuboid Architekti.

Skanska already sold their Prague office project Vyšehrad Victoria in the first quarter of this year. They also have under their belt the first LEED-certified project in the Czech Republic, namely the ČSOB headquarters building.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Certificate takes into consideration environmentally responsible building design, usage of materials and resources, energy savings, improving the quality of indoor environment as well as location of the building. This certification provides the developers and operators of the building with a concise framework for identifying and implementing sustainable solutions in design, construction, operation and maintenance of the building.
