Contract discharge for first PPP package will cost the state EUR 51,4 mill.

This year´s Transport Ministry budget will increase by EUR 51.42 mill. due to the discharge of the concession contract with Slovenské diaľnice for construction of the 1st PPP package namely sections of the D1 motorway between Martin and Prešov. The [Slovak] government have decided this at Wednesday´s meeting. In addition, Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš should increase Transport Ministry‘s budget by the above-mentioned amount. Transport Ministry must pay the above-mentioned consortium EUR 31.93 mill. excl. VAT for the preparatory works on the construction of the motorway sections. The remaining amount represents further costs for stopping the project. Minister Figeľ has decided not to extend the deadline as the project is not financially concluded. The concession contract between state and company Slovenské diaľnice was thus discharged.
