Trenčín cannot invest to the stadium reconstruction due to the crisis
The capacity of the town football stadium will reduce from 18 000 to 3 000 since the spring. Desolate state of the football facility namely enforces the local football club AS Trenčín to make accessible only the main tribune for sitting so that to fulfil the basic safety criteria, which dictates the new law on organizing sports events approved after nuisances at Dunajská Streda. The Trenčín facility became the scene of several incidents in past.
The club cannot rely either for financial backing from the stadium owner, Trenčín town, so far. The self-administration has decided to cross out from this year budget almost in all items in connection with the economic crisis and reducing incomes – so it has frozen hundreds of Euro, which were allocated for the football stadium reconstruction. Trenčín needs to spare 1.13 millions €. The budget crosses will also touch the subsidy for the hockey stadium and the plan on roads maintenance.
