Investors soon to see change in provision of incentives
Foreign and domestic investors are awaiting a change in the rules for providing investment incentives. “The law is already obsolete and dysfunctional. As far as I know, Ministry of Economic Affairs committee in collaboration with external experts are creating a new system of incentives. I expect that by early next year there will be very clear rules,“ said Chief of SARIO, Robert Šimončič. According to the old-new head of the investment agency, however, provision of investment incentives is not so essential for investors. More important is the comprehensive picture of SR, whether in terms of existing infrastructure, geological location, enough skilled labour and the quality of the business environment. "Incentives are something extra which should regulate the extremely important strategic investments for us. They do not need to be viewed as something that will solve everything. The country must be attractive even without the incentives,” concluded Šimončič.
