Traffic constructions are going to be built-up at price of 40 millions Euro in the Košice region
Already at the end of this year or at the beginning of year 2010, 4 constructions ought to start realizing, involved into the integrated traffic system (ITS) project in the Košice city at price of approximately 40 mills Euro. After the agreement on co-operation between Košice city and Košice self-administration region has been closed, the district officer Zdenko Trebuľa and the major of Košice, František Knapík, informed about it. As the traffic expert KSK, Igor Reiprich, told, cost relate to the first part of approved projects, which will be financed from EU funds in the operational program traffic.
The new railway-tram terminal the North is to be built-up in the town and rail traffic will go up to the building estate Tahanovce during the first stage. Electrification and modernization of the rail line from Košice-Hanisky up to Moldava nad Bodvou will be the second big construction. Light trains, something like tram-trains, are planned, by which an inhabitant of Moldava nad Bodvou would get to the Košice town centre and an inhabitant of Košice building estate Ťahanovce would get to the town centre or other farther districts for example.
„The second part of the project constructions is involved into the operational program managed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, which has not decided about these projects at price of 60 mills Euro yet,“ Trebuľa told. He attached, that the region and the city will create commonly financed independent legal subject, which will look after all activities and their realization in ITS. Preparation of the ITS project lasted from year 2004. The city expected from it improving urban and suburban traffic mainly.
