ZPZ proposes to increase support for thermal protection in buildings

The Association for Thermal Insulation in Buildings (ZPZ) wants to propose measures for significant building renewals using thermal protection, namely by insulating facades and roods, including window replacements. According to the Association, the immediate introduction of such measures would alleviate the impacts of the economic crisis on the unemployment rate in construction as well as related sectors. About 3,300 jobs should be created in this way each year. At the same time, the measure would lead to long-term savings on energies (including natural gas), more expensive year by year, and would meet climatic targets. “The highest potential of energy savings in Slovakia is in buildings,” ZPZ emphasizes. According to the Association, the proposed measures would also make it possible in the long term to solve Slovakia’s energy security and to meet the demanding criteria of the Climate and Energy Package to cut greenhouse gases by 20% to 30% by 2020.
