28 projects were a success in the program People for trees
Up to 119 applicants all over Slovakia applied for financial backing from the program People for threes from the end of January till the beginning of March. The Foundation Ekopolis together with the Skanska group general partner chose 28 projects to be supported with the amount of 46 260 Euro. Today the organizers declared results. „The backing to the height of 2 600 Euro could obtain non-governmental organizations, informal groups of inhabitants, schools, villages, towns and gain organizations in the opened competition,“ Milan Hronec, the program manager of Ekopolis Foundation, informed. Municipal offices and schools expressed the biggest interest in the backing. The program People and trees supports planting out original, natural or traditional kinds of wood, beautification of the land by green vegetation, which increases both esthetical value of the land and protection of precious trees as well, renovation of parks, out planting green vegetation in the vicinity of schools, in public gardens and development of green areas.
