Will companies and volunteers help to beautify the city?
Volunteers from various companies can once again join the project of beatifying the capital city. In the 3rd annual event Our Bratislava on June 12 and 13, 2009 thy can for example help in the treatment of yards and gardens, cleaning parks and public spaces, cleaning, minor painting and enhancement of internal spaces. As advised Monika Smolová from Pontis Foundation, companies’ registration and logging activities take place until May 11. On May 12 the Foundation will launch the page www.nasabratislava.sk, where volunteers from different companies can enrol.
Since 2006 more than 1700 volunteers attached hands to the work. Last year 800 volunteers from 40 companies, which cooperated with almost 40 non-governmental organizations and community initiatives, helped to beautify the city. In 2008, the 1st annual event Our Košice was held, where over 560 volunteers from 15 companies involved in 20 activities. This year, the Pontis Foundation also prepares the 1st annual event Our Žilina.
