Bratislava: City development plan not to be changed for now

The development plan of the city of Bratislava will not be changed for the time being. Yesterday the city representatives were originally going to discuss the 2nd package of changes and amendments to the development plan but Andrej Ďurkovský, the mayor, withdrew this material from the proceedings. As the reason, he cited multiple comments on the document which would have to be discussed. Even before the meeting of the city parliament, some citizens and activists were against the proposed changes. They argued with regards to increasing the density of areas and threatening large green areas and parks if some changes and amendments were to be approved. The currently valid development plan was approved at the end of May 2007. The first package of changes and amendments concerned mainly linking of railway corridors TEN-T 17.
