Skanska preparing legal action against alleged dubious tenders

The largest construction company in the Czech Republic Skanska, seated in Prague, plans to challenge judicially the alleged dubious tenders and demand compensation for the loss of profit. They consider them rigged and they want clearer conditions for allocation of tenders in the public sector. The Czech office of the Swedish construction company Skanska AB is selecting legal office which will get all recorded cases of competitions where the company had been excluded. The company is active in Slovakia, its name is Skanska SK, a.s., its seat is in Bratislava. In connection with preparation of the legal actions, CEO Dan Ťok said that he has support of the Swedish owners even if it should lead to lower sales for Skanska in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In Slovakia, Skanska was recently excluded from the tender of ŽSR for modernization of railway Zlatovce – Trenčianska Teplá. The submitter reasoned by insufficient clarification of the offered lowest price of nearly EUR 201 mill. at the expected price of the commission of more than EUR 296 mill. excl. VAT.
