6 843 completed and 8 147 flats started in the first six months
8 147 flats were started and 6 843 completed in Slovakia in the first six months and at the end of June, 68 765 flats were under construction. According to the data published by the Slovak Statistical Office (SSO), the number of started flats declined year-on-year by 2 955 (26,6 %), the number of completed flats fell by 387 (5,4 %) and number of flats under construction by 1 213 (1,7 %). The number of completed flats in the private sector was 6 025 flats, a year-on-year decline by 10,6 %. 818 flats were completed in the public sector, 67,3 % more. Construction of 6 890 flats started in the private sector, a decline of 25,1 %; the number fell by 34,1 % to 1 257 in the public sector. At the end of June the number of flats under construction was 62 428 (0,4 % fewer) and 6 337 flat in the public sector (a decline of 13,3 %). The highest number of completed flats was in the Bratislava region – 2 236, in the Trnava region – 1 149 and the lowest number was in Banska Bystrica region – 434.
