3098 completed and 4063 started flats in the first quarter
Construction of 4 063 flats started in the first quarter in Slovakia, 3 098 flats were completed and 68 426 were under construction as of 31st March. According to the data by Slovak Statistical Office, the number of started flats fell year-on-year by 1 621 which is a decrease by 28,5 %. The number of started flats fell by 345 (10 %) and the number of flats under construction grew by 79 (0,1 %). There were also 251 fewer flats in the first quarter, this is a 1,2 % year-on-year decline. The private sector completed 2 780 flats, a year-on-year fall of 12,3 %. 318 were completed in the public sector, which was 16,9 % fewer. In the private sector construction of 3 062 flats started, which was a decline of 23,9 %. The number fell by 39,8 % to 1001 in the public sector. 61 845 flats were under construction in the private sector as of end of March, it was 6 581 flats in the public sector.
