"Green" Office Islands
Hochtief Development obtained an „A“ grade certificate of energy performance for the Office Islands project which will provide nearly 70,000 sqm of office and commercial space in Prague´s suburb of Letňany. All six buildings comprising the project have very low operational consumption – below 62 kWh/m2/year. Office Islands is one of the few truly low energy consumption and “green“ projects in Prague. The Office Islands complex will have above-standard facade insulation and insulation of heat and cold mains. Using heat pumps and cooling ceilings is planned. All buildings will be equipped with exterior sunblinds with automatic sun management of individual facades as well as an automatic control of artificial lighting dependent on the daylight intensity. Latest water-saving technologies will also be used – rainwater will be held in retention tanks used to water the green areas within the premises, a water-saving flushing system will also ensure reduction of waste water levels. The property developer is currently working on obtaining the international LEED certification.
