Slovakia´s GDP grew faster than in the EU

Gross domestic product (GDP) of Slovakia in the second quarter of this year grew faster yoy and quarterly than GDP for the entire Eurozone and the entire European Union. This follows from the first estimate for the EU statistical office Eurostat, which published the results on Tuesday. GDP across the Eurozone and the EU strengthened by 0,2% quarterly. The Slovak economy compared to the first quarter of this year grew by 0.9% in April-June. Compared the same period last year, the Eurozone and the entire EU economies increased by 1.7% in the second quarter. According to Eurostat, Slovak GDP in the monitored period, strengthened by 3.4% year-on-year. The economy of the United States increased quarterly by 0.3% in the second quarter of 2011, after a growth by 0.1% in the first quarter. U.S. economy has grown yoy by 1.6% during April to June this year. Japanese GDP fell in the second quarter by 0.3% year on year and declined by 0.9%.
