D. Strehová: The rebuilding of the swimming pool will allow year-round servicing
The completion of the thermal spa, which started at Dolná Strehová in the Velký Krtíš County, would bring year-round servicing, modern facility and increase of attendance. This will require the investment of 10.323 millions Euro, half of which the company Termal DS, established for this purpose by the municipality together with two private partners, acquired from Euro funds.
The main part of the project is to build-up a wellness centre with accommodation and all year round servicing. It includes a restaurant, a conference room with capacity for 120 seats, a large children's pool with water attractions and wellness facilities including 4 saunas. Current 5 swimming pools in the swimming place will pass reconstruction and the 6th one with a toboggan will be added.
As Dušan Mališ, the mayor of Dolná Strehová, told, the construction should be completed by the end of 2010 and will not require any restriction to the swimming pool operation. The mayor expects increasing its attendance from the current 80 – 90 thousand to 150 thousand a year in the least.
