Trnava wants to encourage entrepreneurs by reducing rents

From May some entrepreneurs in the centre of Trnava pay for the rent of urban areas less than last year. According to the regulation of binding force, which the city council approved on Tuesday, about 10 percent lower rent to be paid by operators of non-smoking cafes and restaurants and tenants of commercial and office spaces, if they are not used for financial, banking, insurance and telecommunications services. After the reduction they pay approximately 27.9 Euro per m2 monthly. Other entrepreneurs and tenants will pay the same amount as last year – the city that came with the initiative itself, will not apply the 4.6-percent inflation. It wants to help entrepreneurs to survive the critical period. Bošnakov estimates that such aid may reduce a city budget by up to 50 thousand Euro. The exact amount is not known yet; the operation units may decide whether they will be smoking or no till September.
