Košice: the government will provide more than 3.3 million for the ice hockey training hall

The SR government will provide over 3.3 million Euro for the construction of the training hockey hall near the Steel Arena at Kosice. The Prime Minister Robert Fico who attended to tap the cornerstone of the new hall together with Paul Paško, the SR National Council chairman, pointed it out yesterday. The total cost will reach 4.65 million. Currently the building permission is granted and it should be started in July, whereas the construction should be completed till December 2010.

„Despite the crisis, the government supports reconstruction of the winter stadium in Bratislava and the construction of the training hall at Košice, not only because of the hockey World Cup to be held in 2011,“ Fico said.

The training hall for the ice hockey players will stand on the south side of the Košice Steel Arena; the dimension of glacial area is 26×56 m and the capacity from 300 to 600 spectators. The hall will meet the criteria for the master competition of young hockey players.
