Reconstruction of the Bratislava Castle will maybe be stopped
Finance Minister Ján Počiatek admitted the possibility that the government would reconsider the reconstruction of the Bratislava Castle. It has to get a new facade for more than 130 millions Euro according to the original plan. As the server Aktuálne.sk informs, the economic crisis should also reflect on the reconstruction of the Slovak Philharmonic residence. According to him, perhaps it will lose a subsidy, although the government of Robert Fico has allocated to it earmarked financial means. „As we must address the disrepair of the building, we will not to carry out construction works on the entire investment activities in the first step of reconstruction, but we first approach to the realization of construction works up to a maximum of 19 032 Euro, VAT included,“ confirmed Jozef Bednár, the Culture Ministry spokesman. Reconstruction of Reduta has already been postponing for several years; the situation became sharper at the beginning of April, and the residence of philharmonics had to be urgently closed. The concert season continues in the Slovak Radio building and in the historic building of SND (the Slovak National Theatre)
