Bratislava magistrate denies that the mayor does not act concerning PKO

Argues that the mayor Andrej Ďurkovský does not act in connection with the Park of Culture and Leisure (PKO) occurred after the Old City building office confirmed that after the month he did not ask to withdraw the permission on demolition of PKO yet. The deputies committed him to this step at the end of April at a meeting of the urban Parliament. According to the decision he ought have performed it with immediate effect. At the same time they committed him to take all necessary steps to terminate the contract on cooperation between the city and the investor as per June 2006. The reason for this decision is a breach of the contract clauses on the collaboration of contractual parties and unannounced start of demolition works. „It is not true that the mayor fails in the matter of the resolution. Conversely, immediately after signing the resolution he ordered the magistrate workers to take the steps to which it deputies committed him, "said Beatrice Szabóová, the mayor spokeswoman. Currently the city is examining "the particularities on the impact of this resolution in relation to the contracts closed“ and a demolition does not threat allegedly until the problem about PKO future is solved.
