Bratislava: Still undecided – the final solution for Stará tržnica
The final solution for Stará tržnica at SNP square in Bratislava is still undecided. Originally, the Bratislava Mayor Andrej Ďurkovský should sign a lease contract for 10 years with British developer the Devel Gallery, who planned to invest at least EUR 1.5 million into reconstruction of this building. His vision was to create centre of business and cultural life of Bratislava here and a gate to the Old Town. The scene however, entered the second applicant – company named American Style. Following that, the city administration decided to lease the Stará tržnica building only after public tender takes place. City administration terminated lease contracts with the last small operations owners at beginning of April. Therefore, Stará tržnica building is presently empty and shut down.
