Poprad: the colonnade was built at Poprad to protect against ravens

Poprad town handed over the to public use the front rail station park and colonnade, whose purpose is to protect people against the ravens. Reconstruction of the 1st stage cost 750 000 Euro. By the designer Dušan Genčanský the new park finally responds to the „new“ building of the railway station, which stands here for over 20 years. „We considered to work out, lower or cut back trees, and even whether we should continue to fight with the ravens,“ said the mayor of Poprad Anton Danko. By the construction of the colonnade, which covers the main pedestrian move between the railway station and the city centre, was created a unique project according to him, which will allow living ravens, trees and people. The entire area is under the supervision of the municipal police cameras.
