Košice: the city has 34 approved development projects
The city of Košice has 34 approved development projects financed from European Structural Funds costing EUR 34,4 mill. this year. Among the most costly with a total non-repayable financial contribution of EUR 16,7 mill. are Elektronizácia služieb krajského mesta Košice (Electronisation of the services of the regional capital Košice), construction of Kompostárna bioodpadov (Biowaste composting plant), Zníženie emisií modernizáciou košickej MHD (Lowering of emissions by modernisation of Košice public transport). A part of the projects aims at modernisation and lowering the energy demand in 9 primary schools with a grant of 11 million. The reconstruction and modernisation project of Stredisko sociálnej pomoci (Centre for social aid) in Garbiarska 4 is among significant investments in the social area. The goal is to increase the availability and quality of civic infrastructure and amenities in the region, improving the quality of social services, socio-legal protection and social tutelage.
