Ikea planning to enlarge the Bratislava store
The company Ikea Bratislava is planning to expand the capacity of its existing store in the Avion Shopping Park complex. After completion of the project, the floor area of Bratislava´s Ikea store will increase from the current 22 thousand m2 by more than 11 thousand m2. “We are planning to enlarge the capacity to satisfy the exceptional interest of public in products improving the level of interior design,“ they state in the investment plan. The project will lead to enlargement of the sales warehouse and the sales area on the 1st and 2nd floor as well as loading ramps. The restaurant will be expanded and the kitchen capacity will also be increased. There are currently about 290 employees. After the project execution, which the company Ikea intends to start in August 2011 and complete a year later, 40 to 60 new jobs should be created.
