Bratislava: 11 companies wish to provide advisory services on selection of concessionaire for airport

11 candidates wish to provide advisory services on selecting concessionaire for the Bratislava airport. This is how many quotations the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development received in the tender for providing advisory services on entering of the future investor in the largest Slovak airport. “We welcome the highly competitive environment, which brings lower prices and increases transparency in public procurement," said Martin Krajčovič, spokesman for the Transport Minister.

According to unofficial information, the cheapest price for the advisory services on selecting a concessionaire for the airport in Bratislava was offered by Deloitte – around EUR 890 thousand. It is more than twice lower than the estimated price for advisory services amounting to EUR 2 million without VAT.

“We expect, if there are no delays, to complete the entire process of selecting consultants by the end of the year,” Mr Krajčovič said. 77 candidates have collected the tender documentation. The concessionaire to operate the airport in the Slovak capital for the next 30 years should be known by next summer. Before preparing the tender documentation the ministry addressed over 40 consulting firms and investment banks operating in the airport and railway sectors.
