Orava Cluster focused on tourism will be established by the end of March
This news was confirmed by Martin Hromada, one of initiators from the company Aqua Kubín. “We started to play with this idea in 2008. Currently, we informally negotiate with entities operating in tourist industry in the following districts: Dolný Kubín, Tvrdošín and Námestovo. The constitutive meeting of the Orava Cluster will be held by the end of March,” Mr. Hromada said. The Cluster will coordinate cooperation of entities operating in tourist industry in the Orava Region. “We strive to create the information system, to initiate cross-border cooperation and to help with quality management and human resources education,” he said. An association focused on comprehensive solution of interests of the whole region was missing in the Orava region until now. “We expect that establishment of the Cluster will help to increase number of visitors in this region as well as the living standard of its inhabitants and to create new jobs. We will present the region uniformly, using one mark and, concurrently, we will create joint products,” Mr. Hromada stated. Currently, there is only one cluster within the tourist industry in Slovakia – and that is in the Liptov Region.
