Bratislava presented itself at the MIPIM fair

The jubilee 20th MIPIM, the greatest European show of real estates and investment opportunities, ended on 13 March. Among significant towns and regions, Bratislava, Capital of the Slovak Republic, strived to attract investors. Several new public projects in the relaxation, leisure and sport fields were introduced at the MIPIM. The planned development of the Zlaté Piesky premises or the Urban Interventions, project of regeneration of certain dilapidated premises raised interest. Another of the presented projects was rebuilding of the Ondrej Nepela ice-skating rink to modern multipurpose arena, which will host the Ice Hockey World Championship in spring 2011. The peak of the fair is always awarding of MIPIM Awards to the best world buildings in 5 following categories (2008 winners are in brackets ): Office buildings (Kranhaus, Köln am Rhein), residential development (Mountain Dwellings, Copenhagen), renovated office buildings (Les Ecuries de la Chasse Royale), hotels and tourist premises (Phoenix Island Villa Condo & Club House) and „green buildings“ (Centre for Sustainable Technologies CSET, Ningbo, China).
