Cost saving measures to the Prešov Town Hall in May

Prešov expects shortfall of 1.8 million € in the revenue budget and decrease in the collection of municipal taxes, especially in real-estate taxes, which could decline by 500 thousand € in this year. The mayor Paul Hagyari undertakes that at the May City Council shall submit a proposal for the regulation and commitment of current expenditure in the budget of the city. The Town Hall is considering reducing the number of urban firms by creating a holding town company, which will ensure their activities. It will sell property, which requires high maintenance costs, for the market price. It will re-evaluate 260 unfavourable tenancy agreements. It will also seek ways of selling rental apartments in urban mixed residential homes. There is the new industrial park available and then intention to build-up new apartments in the former amphitheatre area is drawn up.
