A swimming pool to be built on a thermal water spring
A thermal swimming pool should grow in Dvory nad Žitavou within 4 years, according to the plans of the town that revitalized an old spring discovered at the beginning of the 1980s. Right now it is trying to obtain EUR 33 million for the project. “We’re negotiating with a private investor and want to get more money from European funds. The town will put in its land and the spring,” said the town’s mayor Jozef Kálazi. The size of the complex and the number of swimming pools will depend on the obtained finances. If successful, the construction of the swimming pool should start in June 2011 and the facility should be opened in June 2013. The 2.5km deep well, situated 280m southwest of the state road from Dvory nad Žitavou to Nové Zámky, yields thermal water 60°C warm. However, no project has been prepared so far.
