Construction output in the EU declined by 5.1 percent in April

The seasonal clean construction output across the EU raised semi-monthly by 0.7% in April, while in the Euro zone it semi-monthly increased by 0.6%. In March, the semi-monthly growth of the construction industry output in EU was on the level of 0.1%, the Euro zone registered the growth by 0.6%. On the semi-year base the EU construction sector output decreased by 5.1% in April, in the Euro zone decreased by 4.7%. Among the member states the biggest semi-monthly growth recorded Czech Republic (5.2%), Spain (3.2%) and Sweden (2.9%) and the biggest fall in Slovenia (12.1%), Romania (6.1%) and Slovakia (3.1%). The EU statistical office Eurostat informed about it.
