Construction output decline accelerated again in July to 5.7%

The semi-year construction output decline continuing since early year accelerated again in July after slowdown in June. Its volume fell by 5.7% to 540.5 million Euros, when the semi-year reduction in June represented 0.3%. As is apparent from the data of the Statistical Office of the SR, companies with 20 or more employees affected it mainly; within them was the reduction by 4.1% semi-yearly. The construction output decreased by 2.4% in July compared with June, with consideration of seasonal effects. For 7 months 2009 it decreased by 8.6% to 3 120 billion Euro, what compared with 6 months means the slowdown by 0.6 of percentage point.
