In the first quarter, 3,443 flats were completed and 5,684 started
In the first quarter of 2009, the construction of 5,684 flats started and 3,443 flats were completed in Slovakia; at the end of March, 68,347 flats were in progress. According to the data published by the Slovak Statistical Office, the number of commenced flats in the first quarter declined by 13.2% year-on-year. Most flats – 903 – were finished in the Bratislava region, 609 in the Trnava region and 533 in the Žilina region. The fewest flats were completed in the Košice region – 207. The Bratislava region completed 67 flats fewer, Košice 11 flats fewer and Prešov 6 flats fewer. More flats were finished in all other regions,; the highest increment of the number of finished flats was in the Banská Bystrica and Žilina regions, where 154 and 77 flats, respectively, were added.
