Building production in Slovakia grew slower than in EU

March building production of Slovak companies after seasonal adjustment grew by 3,1 % month-on-month, whereas it increased by 7,6 % in the Eurozone. It was up by 6,8 % compared to February in the EU. It decreased by 14,8 % in comparison with 3rd month 2009, which is a greater decline compared to Eurozone where it decreased by 5,2 % year-on-year as well as compared to the entire EU where it fell by 2,4 %. According to Eurostat, the building sector production in the EU member countries grew in 13 countries in March and it fell only in Sweden (by 0,4 %). The highest month-on-month increase was recorded in Germany (26,7 %), Hungary (5,5 %) and the Czech Republic (4,7 %).
