The fall in building construction totalled 11,3 % last year

The building construction in Slovakia fell by 11,3 % to EUR 5,75 bill. on the previous year, according to the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic. In the last year the fall deepened by 4,7 percent to 18,2 % with the volume of EUR 463,4 mill. The building production was lower by 13,5 % on previous year in November. After seasonal adjustment the construction industry recorded a performance drop of 11,3 % in December in comparison with November. “Building production realized in Slovakia fell by 17,4 % on the previous year to EUR 448,6 mill. in December. The development of Slovak production was affected mainly by the decline in new construction including modernizations and reconstructions,” added the Statistical Office.
