BHP will buy Grand Hotel Kempinski in Tatras in February

Best Hotel Company Properties SpA (BHP) plans the acquisition of Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras in mid-February this year. Branislav Babík, chairman of BHP, informed about this on Tuesday. The company planned to purchase the hotel already in the past year, however, in the end only the acquisition of hotel Kempinski Hotel River Park worth EUR 59.7 million excl. VAT was successfully completed.

Branislav Babík also reviewed last year for SITA. It was mainly a year of stabilization for BHP, when apart from the purchase of Kempinski Hotel in Bratislava and signing a contract for the operation of Kadashevskaya hotel in Moscow and final preparations for the reconstruction of its flagship – Baltschug Kempinski hotel in Moscow – began. Last year was, according to Babík, demanding for hoteliers around the world and a decline didn´t escape from Best Hotel Properties either. “We are talking about the fall in demand for accommodation and meetings in our hotels,“ said Babík. The exception is the region of Moscow, where the performance is high, according to Babík. Along with London and Paris, Moscow is the leader in the European hotel market,“ he explained.

BHP is planning more acquisitions in Slovakia. The company wants to focus on Moscow, according to Babík, where the company has a strong background and understanding of the local market.
