Pilsberg Investment to build multi-purpose centre in Poprad
The company Pilsberg Investment wants to build the largest multi-purpose centre in the region at the site of current brewery in Poprad. The total investment will exceed EUR 33 million. Landmarks of the complex will by three 16, 19 and 20-storey apartment houses. The total space area will exceed 110,000 sqm. Two floors of underground car park with a capacity of nearly 1,200 spaces will be located below the entire complex.
Marián Balaj, project manager and representative of the investor, said that housing will be connected to a hotel, administrative space, shopping and leisure premises. Construction of the complex is scheduled to start in summer 2012. At present, a functioning malting plant is on the premises of the Poprad brewery. The investor plans to move it into the village of Mlynica. Another project is being prepared at the site of former Prior department store. A large shopping and leisure centre called Forum Poprad will be built on the edge of the square.
