Fall of construction industry in April slowed down to 1,2 per cent

Continuing fall of construction industry slowed down in April to 1,2 %, its volume was EUR 456,6 mill. After seasonal adjustment construction industry outputs were higher than in March by 9 %. Slovak Statistical Office (SSO) informed about this. Year-on-year fall of building construction was 12,9 %. It reached EUR 1,363 bill. over the 4 months of 2010, which is a 10 % decline compared to the same period last year. Construction industry recorded a fall by 13,9 % in the first quarter. Building industry decreased by 11,3 % to EUR 5,75 bill. in 2009. Building production executed by local building companies reached the volume of EUR 444,8 mill. and after 7 months of continuous decline, it reached the level of the same period in 2009. Its share on total building production increased by 1,1 per cent to 97,4 %.
