Slovakia recorded the second highest decline of construction industry in EU
The construction industry in Slovakia dropped by 19,7 % year-on-year in December, this is the second highest year-on-year drop of the EU member countries. According the data published by the (European) statistical office Eurostat, the construction industry in the entire EU after the seasonal adjustment fell by 3,3 % year-on-year; it was by 3,1 % in the Eurozone. Within the 13 countries which provided data to Eurostat, the highest decline was recorded in Bulgaria (by 33,3 %), Slovakia (by 19,7 %) and Slovenia (by 18,8 %). The construction production declined year-on-year in 10 countries and it increased in Spain (7,5 %), Poland (2,5 %) and the Czech Republic (by 2,3 %).
