Grand Hotel Kempinski is to by open at Štrbské Pleso

On Thursday the first branded five-star hotel in Slovakia is going to be open in the High Tatras. The Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras at Štrbské Pleso was created after nearly 4-year reconstruction of protected medical homes Hviezdoslav, Kriváň and Jánošík. It offers accommodation in 98 rooms and suites and currently there are working about 80 people, in full operation it will be up to 115.

Project Manager of the reconstruction, Joseph Honek, thinks that „there is returned the luxury at least, which was here in 1906.“ In some places there are original lights and handles on the doors there. Almost in the original, but the reconstructed state is a large dining room for example. Even the colour of the building facade is maintained. During the reconstruction builders discovered paintings on the ceilings of corridors, which were restored to its original form. The Kempinski Grandhotel High Tatras reconstruction was launched in 2005. The total cost will achieve 42 millions Euro. Apartment houses complement the historical complex. The main investor of the construction is the developer group J & T Real Estate.
