Slovaks alarmed by the state’s approach to developers

Most Slovaks are annoyed about the state’s inability to prevent development firms in their illegal devastation of the environment. This is the outcome of a representative survey conducted by the Institute for Public Opinion (IVO). Over a half of all people are vexed about the state’s inability to prevent developers in illegal tree felling, demolitions of historical buildings and devastation of the environment. “55% of the respondents expressed their dissatisfaction about this fact,” said IVO’s Olga Gyárfášová. A quarter of the respondents were not worried about this behavior, 11% had not noticed it and 9% were not able to answer. “People with higher education and the residents of Bratislava, Košice and Žilina regions expressed their dissatisfaction to a much larger degree,” Gyárfášová added.
